for temps

YOUR ASSIGNMENTS
Temping can be daunting for the first time as each assignment is like starting a new job.  To work as a TORS temp or locum means you will be a front face to our business and we therefore want to ensure that we get you the right work at a firm where you will shine.   Your Consultant will give you full details of each assignment so you know what to expect.  We will give you a couple of days to settle in before phoning to see how you are getting on and encourage you to phone us to discuss any problems you may be having so we can find a solution for you.

PAYMENT DETAILS
Locum Lawyers will be paid on a daily rate and support staff on an hourly rate.  The rates will vary from assignment to assignment depending on firm, job required and geographic area.  You will, however, always be informed of the rate before you accept each assignment and the terms you sign as a temp will state the minimum rate you will receive.

You will be paid weekly every Thursday (Fridays on Bank holiday weeks) and we pay by bacs direct to your Bank account or Building Society.   We will need you to complete a Bank Details Form so we have these details. Your pay will include an element of holiday pay which is clearly shown on your wage slip provided each week.

TORS will deduct Tax and National Insurance from your gross pay and will need to receive either a P45, P46 or P38 (students) before you start your assignment.
